since i'm absolutely sure that my perception and assumptions on oman will change once i get there, i've decided to record them. this should provide for future amusement and reflection.

the hype: HEAT
oman is supposed to be a hot country. how hot can it be? is 55 celcius horrible compared to 45 around kamloops while treeplanting? due to the hype purchased some "trekking" clothing. i find this clothing somewhat ridiculous if not pricey. sure it's comfy but i consider the vents to be bunk and wouldn't cotton clothing fare just as well? when i try it on i feel like i should be riding an elephant. in any case, if we are forced to wear long sleeve PPE at work, we are going to have the worst farmer tans imaginable.
mini pasty will have the hardest time dealing with the sun and i look forward to his bitching.
i also purchased a water bladder in order to drink at will. perhaps i'll find it to be a needed luxury.
